The Bled hail from the hotbed of Tucson, AZ… no, not in terms of the music scene: just the sweltering heat. It is the type of heat that makes you not want to move… or move really far away. And in the case of Silent Treatment, I want to do the latter. It is not because this album is horrible, but that it is painfully average. The breakdowns will surely get kids moving, but they are the same breakdowns that are on every hardcore album. The redeeming element of Silent Treatment is the melodic parts that are somewhat ear catching, but it’s not enough to accomplish The Bled’s goal of keeping their hardcore credibility while expanding their melodic accountability. “Shade Tree Mechanics” starts the album off in the right direction, but the rest of the trip is all downhill.
