For a band that's been around as long as they have (since 1995), they've sure managed to fly well beneath my musical radar. How this is possible, I'm not really sure. When the disc arrived, my first thought was, "Hmmm... oh yeah, that's that band... that I never listened to. I sure hope this doesn't suck..." Well never fear, cuz you'll be hard pressed to find anything that sucks about Keep it Going (or Mad Caddies, for that matter). I'm going to assume I'm mostly addressing fans of this genre here, cuz I doubt someone's suddenly gonna be won over as a ska fan by a single album review. But I can assure you, if you're already a Caddies fan or think you might be inclined to try it on for size, I can think of no better place to start than with Keep it Going. Really great stuff that reminds me of a mash-up between the best parts of Mustard Plug and Cherry Poppin' Daddies. Energetic when appropriate, yet mellow and groovy also. Long story short, I was impressed enough to go out and buy a couple other of their albums: it’s been a long time since a band got me that hooked. Go pick this one up, you won't regret it!
