Never has sorrow sounded so beautiful.

TransformOnline - Music Review

Swallow The Sun have become a household name in their homeland of Finland, and for good reason. Their unique take on doom/death metal is refreshing and, luckily for those Stateside, they are starting to make themselves known here where metal has become far too predictable. Hope combines slow ambiance with doom metal and keyboards that are operatic without sounding campy. Songs such as “These Hours of Despair” would fit perfectly into an epic battle scene similar to those in 300. Never has sorrow sounded so beautiful. If you are looking for a mellow yet heavy record that will hit a sadness-filled heart with all the beauty of a Victoria Secret model, then Hope is for you.
