Night After Night play goofy, retro hard rock / heavy metal that’s big on irony, AC/DC riffs, and cheesy lyrics (“Girl you know you want it / girl you know you need it / girl you know I got it”). It’s fun, booty shakin’ groove rock for closet metal heads. This is the type of band that’s probably best heard live in a bar that serves cheap drinks so you can get really wasted and act stupid while they blast away.
Their whole vibe is really tongue-in-cheek, but the riffs are decent nonetheless and the songs are really catchy. Just like Spinal Tap. There’re some cool duel guitar leads copped straight from Judas Priest thrown in here and there as well.
I suppose the only problem I have with bands like this, or The Darkness, is that they may diminish the importance and undermine the credibility of heavy music as an artistically important art form. But hey, maybe that’s just me be overly sensitive.
Party on Wayne!
