Rock and kill!

TransformOnline - Music Review

Name one metalhead who wasn’t bummed when The Crown broke up. Yup, that’s what I thought. A mighty force of ballistic savagery, precision, and grace they were, another victim of the music industry’s turmoil and financial strains. But if several good things emerged from The Crown’s untimely demise, One Man Army And The Undead Quartet would be one of ‘em (guitarist Marko Tervonen’s new “solo project,” Angel Blake, would be another). Led by vocalist Johan Lindstrand’s agile, articulate, and intimidating growls, they’ve put forth a groove-oriented, simplistic-but-efficient platter of muscles and venom here. Overall, 21st Century Killing Machine is more “hard rockin’” than angry and violent, as it struts and jabs instead of possesses a sense of utter hatred and malice. It wants to move you – to bang your head – rather than smash you into bits. That means it’s good for all occasions: the pit, a night out on the town (blast that shit in the car!), psyching yourself up to hit on girls, etc. Good stuff! Lindstrand, as always, is confident in his delivery and absolutely MEATY in his tone. The guy has a looming, gigantic presence that all death metal vocalists should aspire to.

One Man Army And The Undead Quartet have busted out of the gates running. Try to catch up if you can!
