Sloppy, nonsensical, and poorly planned.

TransformOnline - Music Review

Supposedly started with a drunk phone call, Head Wound City sound just like one: sloppy, nonsensical, and poorly planned. Consisting of two parts The Blood Brothers, two parts The Locust, and one part Yeah Yeah Yeahs, this side project’s debut EP sounds exactly like you would expect. Clocking in at just under 10 minutes, each song is like a short, spastic scream that’s not long enough for anyone to understand. That description aside, I have to give the boys a little leeway. All of the members of this side project are in well known bands, and to take some time off must have been a nice relief. It’s almost as though that you can feel this sentiment within the songs. They’re taking a break, making some music with friends, and doing it however the hell they want to. When thinking about it from this angle, one can start to enjoy this EP. Besides, 10 minutes of anything is harmless.

So, for those of you who don’t want to waste your precious time or money, stick to The Blood Brothers or the superior side project, Neon Blonde. But for those of you who don’t give a fuck, check this EP out.
