Fabulously executed, though a bit derivative.

TransformOnline - Music Review

The recording and performances of The New Age of Chaos are pristine: from the talents of the musicians to the production. Maybe it is because Colin Davis is not only the founding member, but also the producer. This album is definitely a credit to him, and his skills are displayed upfront as well as behind the soundboard. From the looks of the cover art to the band name, you would think Vile’s lyrical content would be focused on gore and horror movies. However, it is a little more in-depth than that. The New Age of Chaos is current events intertwined with horrific fantasy, entertaining the idea of total world war between the West and fundamentalist Islamic terrorists.

The New Age of Chaos is solid American death metal, from “Devour” all the way through “Worldhunt.” With fantastic musicianship and interesting melodies, Vile have released their best material yet. The only downfall of The New Age of Chaos is its similarity to Cannibal Corpse. Vile have shown that they have the talent, now they just need a little more creativity and identity in songwriting.
