Go Betty Go "Nothing is More" (Side One Dummy)

Estas chicas rocanrolean mejor que los chicos!

Here's the deal: Go Betty Go are an all Latina punk quartet from Los Angeles that kick out the jams better than some of their male counterparts. Half Mexican, half Argentinean, it don't matter, they kick it bilingually with plenty of chutzpah incorporating muted ska tones and Latin percussions. Their layered vocal harmonies work very well and they're all cute as all hell.

The songs are standard punk themes, but they sound fresh in their capable hands. Four on the floor punk rock. I like the pair of Spanish language tracks, "No Hay Perdon" ("There's no Forgiveness") and "Donde Voy" ("Where I'm Going"). The other tracks are cool too, kinda like a poppier Spitboy and much better than The Donnas. Good job chicas.
