Denison Witmer & The River Bends "...And Flows into the Sea" (Tooth & Nail)

A tad more rocking, but as vibrant and warm as always.

TransformOnline - Music Review

Being on Tooth & Nail doesn’t automatically mean that Denison Witmer has turned Christian rock, just as having The River Bends as his backing band hasn’t automatically altered his tender, affecting songs. A slightly rockier album than what fans have come to expect, …And Flows into the Sea is nonetheless still classic Witmer sensibility. Open-journal lyrics, musing about unknown futures and the changing of seasons, peppered with Big Star melodic turns and a rootsy feel ala The Band. Songs such as opener “Looking For You,” “All the Days and Nights,” and “Are You Lonely?” deliver just what we came for: heart-warming serenades that vibrate the emotions but don’t push buttons. Keep ‘em coming, Denison.
