Burn some SUVs, get 22 years in jail. Give or take six months.
Now that ecoterrorism is the number one domestic terrorist threat in the nation, (even though the "ecoterrorist" groups haven't killed anyone in the U.S.) be extra vigilant in the presence of your granola-eating, hemp-wearing friends. Yes, it's a short jump from keying someone's gas-guzzler to mowing down god-fearing veal farmers in the peace of their own beds.
sfgate.com has interviewed Jeff Luers, who was sentenced to over 22 years for torching three SUVs five years ago. It's a rare peek into the mindset of our country's most daunting threat yet - people who are willing to destroy objects in the name of ending animal cruelty, environmental destruction, and disease-causing pollution.
These people clearly don't understand that you're only allowed to blow stuff up in the name of God or Country. To quote Sir Charles Barkley, "Anything less would be uncivilized."
