POKEMON CAUSES CANCER!!!

The headline that everyone should read...and then either laugh like crazy or stop buying Pokémon games.
I was perusing the the rumor mill at Gamespot when I hit upon this lovely rumor:
"RUMOR #9: Pokémon causes cancer."
After rolling around laughing my ass off for several minutes, I decided to look at the rumor itself. Turns out it's not all that false - albiet, as Gamespot puts it, "totally hilarious". The January 20th issue of Nature magazine talks about a recently discovered a cancer-causing gene. This gene, incidentally, is called the "POK Erythroid Myeloid Ontogenic factor", or for short, "POKEMON".
This caused me to laugh to just about utter unconciousness.
Also noted by Gamespot, Nintendo's staff seemed to be out of the office that particular Friday...
