Just outside of the Imperial City, I came across the Chestnut Handy Stables. I wanted to buy a horse for the trip, but it appears that Snak Gra-Bura (the owner) likes to eat the horses and won't sell them. I could've tried to bribe her, but I only have so much gold. Just my luck: it has started to rain.

I've arrived at Weynon Priory after an uneventful walk. I would have enjoyed the scenery more if my task wasn't so pressing.

After talking with Jauffre, I have learned that the Amulet's power can be used by the Emperor's bloodline to light the Dragonfires. Apparently, these fires keep Oblivion at bay. Now I know why Uriel and his sons are dead. Dagon, prince of Oblivion, plans to invade the lands now. Those assassins must have been working for him, but I don't know why. Uriel Septim still has one son remaining, who was given into the care of Jauffre. Jauffre says he is now a Priest of the Chapel of Akatosh in Kvatch. Apparently Martin is illigitimate, which is why Uriel gave him up. After ttalking to Uriel himself, I believe that to be only part of the reason.
Since no one but Jauffre knows of Martin, I believe he may be safe for the time being. Who knows what power Dagon has, now that the Dragonfires have gone out. I will set out in the morning, my muscles ache from use. Jauffre has let me use supplies he keeps for traveling Blades. I was able to get some better armor, a better bow, and some steel arrows to use instead of my iron arrows. Unfortunately I still have to use the old rusty shield and helm that I found in the underground passages beneath the Imperial prison.
Hopefully my trip to Kvatch will be as uneventful as the trip here, I have heard that there are bandits on the roads. My body isn't quiet used to the weight of a sword, armor, or even the pack in which I carry my belongings. Hopefully with more time I will get stronger. Something tells me I'll need my strength soon.
